JOURNEY TO LA

So Mike and I are still walking around in a post-Journey funk...it's a bit blissful. We had the amazing opportunity to go to a Journey concert with Cheap Trick and Heart as the opening acts. The concert was awesome!!! It was held at the outdoor Greek Theater in L.A. The weather was beautiful, the theater was packed, and we were in nastalgia.

I took some videos, but the quality kind of bums me out, because the performers were amazing and it just doesn't come through like I was hoping it would, but at least you can get the idea of what it was like to be there. Arnel Pineda (lead for Journey) was a ball of energy jumping around the stage and bouncing off things, but I didn't manage to get any footage of him doing any of it. His voice is amazing! We were listening to one of Journey's oldest Greatest Hits albums on the way home from the concert and you wouln't even know it was Steve Perry (original lead singer) and not Arnel Pineda. Ugh...so sad it's all over and we don't get to go to another one anytime soon. Hope you can watch some of the videos.

Carribean - July 2008 In July, we visited Mike's grandparents in St. Vincent and Trinidad. Grandpa and Granny had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, and Mama had just celebrated her 70th birthday. Unfortunately, we just missed both celebrations, but we were still able to see lots of family members. We went to the beach, did lots of site seeing, and ate lots of aloo pies, roti, and channa. Mike got to eat his curried goat and doubles. I got to bring home a tawa to make my own roti. We also brought back some of the best tasting hot pepper sauce you'll ever eat...mmm!!! We hope you can view our slideshow!

Here are some videos of Trinidad & St. Vincent:
